Human behaviour does not change just by cognitively understanding the various aspects of the dysfunctional behaviour. Many people are struggling to deal with their anger outburts, obesity, interpersonal conflicts, lack of punctuality, inability to meet commitments and so on. Most fat people know what will reduce their weight more than even Weight Management experts; but it does not help. As an analogy one can say the difference between experiential and cognitive learning is same as in eating apple and reading about apple. Only after tasting apple you exactly know what an apple is like. In experiential learning an expert facilitator enables one to learn and internalise the undertanding of the human processes.
